Debbie Hodgson

Writer

Debbie came to writing early, winning a Sydney Morning Herald prize for a short story that was published when she was fifteen.

She has been trained by the experienced journalists and editors of Newsweek to write on any topic, in the disciplined style of American news magazines. She specializes in researching and writing concise, information-rich stories, presenting complex issues in a readable and accessible fashion.

While much of her experience is writing about Japan, she has also written on a broad range of news, social, health, lifestyle, history and business topics for premium publications internationally. Those publications include Newsweek Japan, Newsweek International, The Bulletin (Australia), Daily Telegraph (UK), Winds (JAL in-flight), Four Seasons (hotel in-house) Lawyers Weekly and Practical Parenting (Australia)
